Toyota dealers help local charities through Facebook

Two local Toyota dealers are helping the community through separate charity drives that will give out a total of $25,500 to local charities. Larry H. Miller Downtown Toyota and Parker Toyota are both asking the community to decide where the money should go with click of the mouse on Facebook.

The fact that both companies are Toyota dealers is coincidence as the Facebook campaigns are completely separate and unrelated. Larry H. Miller is hosting theirs as part Toyota Drive For Good program. Toyota will match whatever the local dealer puts up. Drive for Good selects gives a different charity $5,000 each quarter with half coming from Larry H. Miller and other half from Toyota.

Parker Toyota's Charity Vote works a little differently. Voters cast their choice from a list of 20 different charities and the top five vote getters receive a portion of $20,500. The number one voted charity will get $6,000 with the following four places getting between $5,000 and $2,500. Right now, the Anna Schindler Foundation is leading the way with 311 votes.

To vote on both charity campaigns you need to have a Facebook account and like the dealer's pages. From there, you simply cast your vote for your favorite charity. Follow the links below to learn more about the charities and to cast your vote via Facebook.
