Rathdrum Power makes donation to Volunteer Search & Rescue | Business
From the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office:
Rathdrum Power LLC donated $500.00 to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Volunteer Search and Rescue Unit on Wednesday.
The VSAR Unit currently has fifty volunteers that perform various functions like K-9 Teams, Man Trackers, ATV/Snowmobile Teams, Ground Searchers, and Support Teams.
The VSAR receives a small budget from Kootenai County; however this money mostly goes toward maintenance of the Search and Rescue building. The VSAR Unit is mostly supported by donations and fundraisers the volunteers do throughout the year. They also receive reimbursements from the State of Idaho for searches they participate in.
This money received from the State can be given to the volunteers to cover their expenses i.e.: fuel and mileage, and various types of personal equipment the volunteers may use while being deployed; however, most volunteers choose to donate the reimbursement to the VSAR Unit account.
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Rathdrum Power LLC for their donation.
