Post Falls Police Victim Services Unit awarded grant funding | Health
The Idaho Council on Domestic Violence and Victim Assistance awarded a $20,000 victim services grant to the Post Falls Police Department's Victim Services Unit Thursday.
The Victim Services Unit, formerly named O.A.S.I.S., has been assisting victims of crime for 20 years. They provide 24-hour crisis intervention services to victims, specializing in assistance to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and child abuse. Some of their services include crisis intervention, emergency domestic violence shelter, a weekly support group and crime victim compensation.
The new funding will allow the two current full-time crime victim advocates to continue providing 24-hour crisis services, educational outreach, private counseling for child victims and community outreach.
